Who runs this site
Iwan Braun, Poststr. 153A, 44809 Bochum, Germany. Email: iwan.braun2004@gmail.com. The same person makes the YATAGARASU app and runs its Discord server.
What this site collects
Nothing of its own. It sets no cookies and has no forms, no sign-up, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Its fonts and images are served from this site itself, so opening it contacts no one else.
Your browser may keep three small notes for the site. They never leave your device:
yatagarasu-motionin local storage remembers your “Reduce motion” choice;yatagarasu-totalityin session storage remembers that the opening animation has played, so it shows once per visit;yatagarasu-flownin session storage remembers that the crow has taken off, so it flies once per visit.
Hosting and request logs
This site is a set of static files served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) from its worldwide network, not from one region: a nearby Cloudflare server answers your request, and it can be outside the EU. Cloudflare records standard technical request data (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy (opens Cloudflare’s site) and data processing terms, and keeps it for the periods set there. Where a request is answered outside the EU, that transfer rests on those data processing terms, which include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and on Cloudflare’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
The site turns on no analytics, tracking or extra logging of its own. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in delivering the site and keeping it safe).
Discord
Nothing is sent to Discord until you click one of the Discord links, and those links send no referrer. Then Discord sees your visit like any link you open. Discord is a separate service with its own privacy policy; what you share in the server falls under Discord’s terms and the server’s rules.
Applying in #apply
To join the beta you write one post in the server’s #apply channel. It answers four questions (your region, your rank, your main role and what you play most) and holds no Riot IDs, links or images. Everyone in the server can read it. A Warden (a moderator of the server) reads it and gives you the Beta Tester role. The post and the role stay in the server while you are in the beta; write to the email above and both are deleted. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the steps you ask for to join the beta).
The app
This section is the YATAGARASU app’s privacy notice. It describes the beta build testers get (0.6.2). The app runs on your PC; the developer receives nothing from it.
What it reads. In a game, Riot’s official, read-only Live Client Data API on your PC, once a second. An optional feature, off by default, also talks to the League client on your PC.
What it sends, and to whom. Nothing to the developer. It talks to three outside services:
- Discord, for the sign-in and the role check, at most once a day. It uses Discord’s own sign-in (OAuth2 with PKCE): you sign in on Discord’s page, and the app never sees your password and holds no secret of its own. Discord’s consent screen lists what the app may see: your account (
identify) and your member details in the YATAGARASU server (guilds.members.read). The app looks only at your name and your roles. It does not ask for your email address or your list of servers. - GitHub, to check for updates (about 20 seconds after the app starts, then every 6 hours, never during a game) and to download an update. The request carries no name, game data or install ID; like any download, GitHub sees your IP address. An update installs only if it carries the YATAGARASU signature. Settings, Updates, “Check for updates” turns this off.
- Riot’s Data Dragon and CommunityDragon, for public item data and icons. Like any download, they see your IP address.
It does not send player names, Riot IDs or anything from your games to any of them, or to the developer. This build has no telemetry.
What it stores, on your PC only, in its own folder under %APPDATA%: its settings; its log (never keys, tokens or names); a log of its recommendations and recordings of your games with names and Riot IDs removed (both on by default; Settings, Privacy turns them off); the post-game receipts built from them (the newest 30); your Discord login (access and refresh tokens), encrypted for your Windows account until you log out in the app; cached item data and icons; and a downloaded update until it installs. Uninstalling keeps this folder; delete it to remove everything.
Legal basis for the sign-in: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (checking the Beta Tester role is how the beta you asked to join works).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you and get a copy (access and portability), have it corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict its use, and object to the request logs (Art. 6(1)(f)) at any time for reasons that come from your situation. Write to iwan.braun2004@gmail.com; we answer within one month.
Recipients: Cloudflare (hosting), Discord (the server and the app’s sign-in), GitHub (the app’s updates), and Riot Games (Data Dragon) and CommunityDragon (the public item data and icons the app downloads). There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live, or ours: the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW).
